05:48 am: Suggestions? [nr]

Hey all..

I'm on a medication that increases my appetite, & my doc was going to perscribe me an appetite supressant when I see him next.. Unfortuatnely I missed my appointment & can't go back til I can pay the non-cancellation fee (I fergot when it was & plain ole missed it).. I was wondering if any of ya'll might have a suggestion on something over the counter that will help me not be so damn hungry..

& just as an fyi, to rule out the obvious suggestions, I am on the weightwatchers program, so I know what & what not to eat.. eating my veggies & getting my oils & drinking water.. it's this medication that doing it to me.

Thanks!

06:12 am: bad incident

Went shopping at Sam's club today & we got a whole wack of stuff.. between my stuff & that of my best friend, we could barely fit it into my car.. I drive a mustang, so you know how litle room there is to begin with.. but I have a '91 which has even less trunk space than the current ones..

Well.. We had TWO cases of apple juice.. each case 12 - 1.2 litre (5 cups) tins.. these cases were placed on my back seat, behind me.. I made the joke half way home that I hope I don't have to break hard.. cuz with normal breaking I could hear the juice sloshing around in the cans behind me.. I should of knocked on wood, cuz not 10 minutes later did traffic come to a grinding & abrupt halt.. TWO cases of apple juice slam into the back of my seat. O. M. G.

My back is killing me.

02:54 am: Eggs

I was hungry fer scrambled eggs today & I made a comment that I felt like eggs.. & then I thought I'd be a smartass & said.. "I don't look like an egg, but I feel like one"..

Well.. then Mom gets philisophical on me.. & said.. "well you prolly do feel like an egg".. a fragile shell that can be broken very easily & inside, nothing substansial.. the essance of me (yoke) just floating on a sea of nothingness (white).. being jossled & pushed around with no control & just sorta 'sloshing' around inside.. a lack of substance, nothing to grasp onto & ground myself. Sorta there, but not really able to do anything.

& honestly, she was right.. I'd gotten into it with my Dad earlier.. & I was actually quite upset & felt very down.. feeling very vulerable.. didn't help that I wasn't feeling well to start with. Plus it didn't help that Dad went completely offtopic on what we were getting into in the first place.. First we were talking about my bills, then somehow were talking about the cottage. I didn't get it..

02:00 am: Fibromyalgia Syndrome Awareness Day

International Awareness Day for Chronic Immunological and Neurological Diseases (CIND).

Chronic Immunological and Neurological Diseases include Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS), Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS / CFS) aka Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). Gulf War Syndrome and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Syndrome.

I have Fibromyalgia. It is a problem with the central nervous system which appears to affect our connective tissues, and is a widespread musculoskeletal pain and fatigue disorder for which the cause is still unknown. FM is recognized as central pain processing disorder, making it a neurological disorder. People with FM have extreme sensitivity to pain and creates sleep disturbances that cause lack of concentration and short-term memory problems. As a result, we feel pain differently than the average person.
The symptoms most commonly associated with fibro, but not limited to, are muscular aches and burning, fatigue, sleep difficulties, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic headaches, facial and jaw pain including TMJ and hypersensitivity to sounds, lights, and odors, and specific tender points.

To give a clearer understanding, read The Spoon Theory. & here is The Beer Theory.. Same Idea, just a bit more humourous. Now, while I do not have Lupus or MS, as the people in the articles, I feel the same on *many* days - I have my limit on Spoons and/or beers..

The National Fibromyalgia Association has an Awareness Day Public Service Announcement you can view. Play time 1.19, but does take a bit of time to DL..

A free course on Fibromyalgia is available here, online for your convenience

On a side note.. May 12 was chosen to memorialize the birth date of Florence Nightingale, the English army nurse who inspired the founding of the International Red Cross. Nightingale contracted a paralyzing, ME/CFS-like illness in her mid-thirties and spent the last 50 years of her life virtually bedridden. Despite her illness, she managed to found the first-ever School of Nursing. It is fitting that this determined woman of the late 19th century now shines as a ray of inspiration and hope to victims of these chronic syndromes in the late 20th century.

FYI, it took me 45 minutes to write this

11:45 pm: Grrrrrr......

Today I recieved the following letter from my Employer today by registered mail.. what a joke..

Dear Ms Ellis

I am writing to you today regarding your continued absence from work. You have been absence since July 2005. When contacted in December 2005, you indicated that you were not undergoing or seeking active medical treatment. You also indicated that you did not have a return to work date or plan as you were unclear as to why you were in fact ill. You remarked that you had not been diagnosed as yet.

Ms Ellis, to date you have not contacted this office or provided appropriate documentation. You have failed to comply with the requirements of a return to work plan or remain in contact with your employer. You have left us no other option that to believe you have chosen to resign from your position with ************ effective immediately and will process the appropriate paperwork.

If there is any reason for which we should be made aware of, please contact me at xxx-xxx-xxxx by April 3, 2006.

Regards.
HR

The facts they did get right were that I stopped working in July of 05 & that I was contacted in December of 05.. the rest is either somewhat incorrect or flat out wrong. I *have* contacted them.. I said a heck of alot more to Carlos in December when he called.. There was *no* return to work plan. I was not told I needed additional documentation, or they would have received it a long time ago.

I hate stupidity.. In December I told Carlos that I did not have a firm diagnosis, but that we had suspicions.. That I was waiting on my specialist appointment for confirmation.. So, now, we didn't know FOR SURE why I was sick, but we were pretty certain as to the issue.. I did NOT say I wasn't undergoing medical treatement, I was seeing my GP & still am on a regular basis. I was also not advised at ANY point that additional documentation was required. In fact I was told my a team MANAGER that I did not have to give additional documentation & that I was not allowed on premise again until I had 'fit to work' documentation from a physician. I have attempted to contact HR & actually contacted the employee feedback line just last week as to who the current HR rep is, as Kyle, who I previously spoke to, was no longer employed by my employer. There was NO return to work plan put in place, so how could I have not followed it? When I went on Medical leave, as far as I know, it was left as open-ended.. Unfortuatnely, I'm not currently able to find that Dr's note.. I have everything but, it seems.

Has anyone else dealt with an issue like this?

12:55 am:
Help to stop the over-reaching of the United States government, their law enforcement and their DEA. Mark Emery, a Canadian citizen (and head of the B.C. Marijuana Party) is facing a full lifetime prison sentence if extradited to the United States. He would be extradited for "crimes" commited from within Canada. He would face a full, American life in prison sentence (as much as the death-penalty even according to US law) for a crime that hasn't been enforced in Canada for over 10 years. For many years he's been running a large-scale seed-sales operation, selling millions of seeds to large numbers of people all over the world. He sends them by mail to the customers who don't come in to get them direct. This mass amount of sales make him a drug kingpen in American law to such an extent that they could sentence him to death with their current laws.

So please, at least look into, do your own research, form your own opinion, and hopefully sign this petition to stop the extradition of Marc Emery to an undue punishment (by Canadian opinion/law) in the United States. If anyone should bring Marc Emery to justice for his mass seed sales it should be Canada, his country and the country from where his 'crimes' were commited.

Block Extradition of Marc Emery

You know you are a Weight Watchers member when:
  • You accidentally swallow toothpaste and wonder how many POINTS it had in it.
  • You stand in the aisles at the grocery store with your WW PointsFinder figuring POINTS before you buy.
  • You feel your collar bone/ribs/hip bones and think you need to call 911 because something must be broken.
  • Everyone at your lunch table is asking you to figure the POINTS on their lunch.
  • You threaten to put your cat on WW.
  • You figure the POINTS on cough syrup.
  • Your child says there are too many POINTS in something s/he doesn't want to eat!
  • You don't want to share ANY of your food with anyone because you've measured it and know exactly how many POINTS are in it.
  • You know where every public restroom is wherever you go . . . you need it after drinking all that water!
  • You realize "gram" is a four letter word.
  • You weigh yourself before and after the bathroom just to see how much of a difference it makes.
  • You don't mind "seeing stars."
  • Your child gets an "A" in English for turning your journal in as a book report.
  • You convince the grocery store owner to organize the food aisles according to POINTS values.
  • You hang your 5 pound book markers from your car antenna.
  • You replace your college diploma with your 50 lb. magnet (now which one is actually tougher to achieve?).
  • You ask your WW leader to bring in a curtain so you can weigh-in naked.

I'm gonna share this at a meeting.. *g*
